CabinetPass

A password manager you can buy once

Most password managers only sell subscriptions. CabinetPass has a free plan with no time limit, and one Pro Lifetime purchase of $49.99 that never renews. That’s about what one year of 1Password Individual costs ($3.99 a month, billed yearly).

Coming soon, free on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. No account needed.

What the free plan includes

Unlimited passwords, cards and notes, 2 GB of encrypted files, built-in 2FA codes, iOS AutoFill, widgets, Face ID, and encrypted sync through your own Google Drive. No trial and no time limit.

What Pro Lifetime adds

Unlimited encrypted file storage, for one $49.99 purchase. On Apple devices one purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Why we can sell it once

CabinetPass doesn’t run servers that store your vault. Sync uses your own Google Drive, so we don’t carry a storage bill per user that a subscription would have to cover.

Pro Plus is $3.99 a month and adds weekly breach alerts, expiry reminders for passports and cards, themes, alternate app icons and early access to the built-in SSH terminal.

Questions

Is CabinetPass free?

Yes. The free plan has unlimited passwords, cards and notes, 2 GB of encrypted files, 2FA codes, AutoFill, widgets and Google Drive sync, with no trial and no time limit. Pro adds unlimited file storage for $49.99 once or $3.99 a month.

Can Google read my vault if I turn on sync?

No. The vault is encrypted on your device before upload. Google stores an encrypted file in a hidden app folder and never has the key.

What if I forget my master password?

Nobody can recover it, including us. That’s what keeps the vault private. Use a passphrase of five or more random words and keep a written copy somewhere safe.
