Terms of Service

Effective October 1, 2026

Your master password cannot be recovered. CabinetPass is built so that no one but you can decrypt your vault. If you forget your master password, your data cannot be restored by you or by us.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the CabinetPass apps for iPhone and Mac (“CabinetPass”, “the app”) provided by Govardhan Chitrada, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use CabinetPass on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.

2. CabinetPass Pro and subscriptions

3. Your responsibilities

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use CabinetPass to store or share content you do not have the right to hold, to break the law, or to reverse engineer, tamper with or interfere with the app except as permitted by applicable law.

5. Third-party services

Optional features rely on third-party services, which are governed by their own terms:

We are not responsible for the availability, security or actions of third-party services.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

CabinetPass is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of security vulnerabilities, or that data will never be lost. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, passwords, access to accounts, profits or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including loss caused by a forgotten master password. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for the app, if any. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end the license if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 3, 6, 7 and 10 survive termination.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or on this page. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where the law of your country of residence gives you mandatory protections.

11. Open-source Vault Viewer

The CabinetPass Vault Viewer and file-format specification are published at github.com/codebreaker444/cabinetpass-decryptor under the MIT License, which governs that code instead of these Terms. You may use it to inspect, audit or recover your own encrypted backups.

12. About the developer
